Whenever he played Sarode duett with Baba Allauddin Khan or Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, he gave out an elusive, mystical quality in the rendering where both erotica and devotion mingle. No wonder, it captivated his audience who, tears rolliing down their cheeks, left with a perennial impression not to be erased in their lifetime. In sum, pathos, poignancy, serenity and layakari or control of rhythms in a Raga were enduring.

Enough! This needs help. I am not attempting to demean those who have contributed to the article, and I am sure that all of the above is true, although I have never been fortunate enough to see one of his performances. Obviously he was around when there were recording facilities???? Why none?? No body in the Ali Akbar College even knows who this guy is. This is wikipedia fellas. Hi Parik! Please look for Ustad Bahadur Khan's recordings which were released from leading Indian record labels as HMV, Atlantis Music, and also from EMI. Understand? Also, please download the Bahadur Khan photo in this article (which is actually a cover of a LP record). You will find there the symbol of EMI. And don't say that "nobody in AACM knows who this guy is." Go to Ali Akbar Khan directly and ask him. Don't ask politicians whose works are to project one by suppressing another. Get the news from the horse's mouth. Also, let me tell you that the Sarode that Ali Akbar Khan plays was made by Bahadur Khan's father. Go and ask Ali Akbar Khan directly. OK? And personally let me tell you that "this guy" (whom many in Bengal consider a legend), very much existed. And not only that, he was a pillar of the Maihar Gharana if four others were Ali Akbar, Ravi Shankar, Annapurna, and Nikhil. You may go and ask it to Annapurna Devi too.

Ali Akbar Khan is indeed great. But he is not the only jewel of his family. If anyone projects AAK as the only legend of his family, then he/she is a foolish. Have you heard of Annapurna Devi (Ali Akbar's sister, and Ravi Shankar's first wife)? She is no less than Ali Akbar as a musical genius. Just because Annapurna did not perform publicly does not mean that one should ignore her. Also, a great number of their family relatives considered remaining in Bangladesh after India's partition of 1947. These people (Ustad Mobarak Hossain Khan, Ustad Abed Hossain Khan, Ustad Yaar Rasul Khan, Ustad Shahdat Hossain Khan) do not go abroad frequently to earn huge bucks does not mean that they are "trash". Everyone of them are the recipients of Bangladesh Government's highest civilian honours for their contributions to music, some of them have directed Bangladesh National Cultural Organisation (Bangladesh Shilpokala Academy) and Bangladesh Radio. Their contributions to music must be honoured. One who can not honour them is only a foolish himself/herself.

How people at AACM are supposed to know about them? Have anyone there (except Ali Akbar Khan himself) ever visited their traditional home at Bangladesh.

Also check the Faculty list at the AACM, you will find Ustad Bahadur Khan's name there.

Mr Parik, please be a responsible man. I am not here to do lobbying for anyone. And I hope you are impartial too.

References and Notes on This Biography and A Request

I have tried to provide references everywhere needed in this biography. Praise on Ustad Bahadur Khan is also referenced now from newspapers. I, therefore, guess no one should have any more problem with this article. Yet, if any, please discuss that first at here (the talk page). And please don't write comments such as 'Tejendra has surpassed Bahadur Khan, ... and Bahadur Khan's name emerged' -- because, firstly, you need to provide reference before claiming that Bahadur Khan's student Tejendra has 'surpassed him', and secondly, Bahadur Khan's own genius was capable enough for emerging his name (as it can now be seen in the reference websites). OK? Let me hope all to be polite and 'non-political' here at wikipedia.

You seriously have to refrain from using subjective material such as "bringing out the soul of a raga" and Bahadur khan having an introvert personality!!! Why so specifically rude on Kirit Khan?

I really appreciate your efforts on Ustad Bahadur Khan. But I seriously wonder whether you have personal confrontation with his younger son, Kirit Khan. I am sorry to say that if you really need to blame Kirit Khan, you can go ahead and contribute a page for him, and let us see whether we all can do something about it. But does Ustad Bahadur Khan really need to carry the burden of his legacy in this particular page? Particularly from your comments someone might get convinced that Kirit Khan is a criminal, but his more important identity is that he was a talented Sitar player, and it was not even mentioned that way. Please make sure you know about the financial crisis he had to go all through his life, which was even more burdened with his seriously ill son (still so), and the other son who died because Kirit did not have enough money for his treatment. Did you ever see him as an unfortunate father who finally had to make such desparate attempts in order to sustain his family? Had he got any financial support as an admiration to his Sitar talent, we might have seen a different story of him. Its a pity that a talented Sitarist like him ended in such a miserable condition only to show how Classical musicians has to struggle for life in India. Please tell me I am wrong, I will find something to console. In the end, I still appreciate your overall efforts on this page.

Just a note

Its a general encyclopedic rule to be objective while describing a subject. I have revereted the article back that mentions Kirit Khan! the reason being Bahadur Khans other relatives and achievements have been mentioned. On the tocken of objectivity all aspects of the subject should be articulated. Objective, but cleverly partially...

For your sincere attention, be it objective or not, cleverly selecting part of a 'true' story can give a completely different and manipulated impression of a subject. Its even a bigger crime than telling a full 'false' story. And I'm afraid, you have been successful in doing so regarding Kirit Khan. If you want to be objective, please do mention his Sitar achievements too, and if you do not know that, let me put it in. Anyway, I give full credit for your effort. Kirit Khan

Wikipedia itself contains a page devoted to Kirit Khan, where details of plenty of his achievements are available and none about him needs to be included in his fathers page. If anybody feels, his misdeeds(which appears on his father's page) also should be included in his own page under a suitable heading and not in his father's. As suggested by a 'Gentleman' above, who seems to be very much concerned about objectivity of a subject and justifies inclusion of Kirit Khan's details because those of his other relatives are mentioned, I propose, agreeing to his demand that these relatives achievements should be neatly removed except about how they were related to Bahadur Khan and what they were. Then, I think as per this 'Gentleman's "Just a note", Kirit Khan with all the burden of his misdeeds may take off to relieve the soul of Bahadur Khan and would not disturb his admirers any more. This will also satisfy this 'Gentleman' and let him see wiki a true objective source and cheer. Smartizen (talk) 19:56, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Reference clean up

The references on this page were duplicated and some suffered from link-rot. That has been cleaned up and a considerable copyedit done to address the NPOV issue and the convoluted family aspect reduced. One thing that needs to be further discussed is the use of the prefix 'usted', aka maestro throughout the article. I removed most of these except for at the start. It appears unclear how this this title is obtained, what it signifies and what the general consensus is on its use. Until that is made clear, the use of it should really be discouraged.
