Move from Revit Architecture to Revit[edit]

I think it's just plain wrong to call this page Revit Architecture. Revit Architecture is one of three programs in the Revit family. I accept that RAC is better known than Structure or MEP, but that doesn't change the facts. I suggest a move back to Revit and a reorganisation of the article so the three platforms are explained separately. I see that Wikipedia:Requested_moves has a big backlog so I won't bother them. If I don't hear cries of protest I'll move this sometime in the future --duncan.lithgow (talk) 00:32, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Wait a second. 1. What's the difference between Revit Building and Revit Architecture? If there are two softwares named Revit there should be such a move. 2. You really should tag a {{subst:requested move|Revit}} in this page.

Invalid Link[edit]

I don't have time right now to fix it, but the link under Products to "Building Design Suites" is invalid. Psubrian (talk) 19:42, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Autodesk Revit ArchitectureRevit – for duncan.lithgow - 110.232.42.149 (talk) 14:35, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

    • There is no such thing as Revit Building, what are you refering to? There is Revit software platform which is available in three 'flavours': Revit Architecture, Revit Structure and Revit MEP. These products have been / are (I'm not quite sure at the moment) available separately. Now in 2013 you can also buy Revit All-in-one / One Box which includes the functionality of all platforms in one application. That's a good example of how the difference between these platforms are not extensive. I'm sorry if I'm ignorant of the procedures for moving a page, what are you referring to with {{subst:requested move|Revit}}? Did I use the wrong tag (did I even use a tag?) Is there something wrong with the way I'm proposing this change? Thanks for adding the tag to this conversation, are there more formalities we should observe? --duncan.lithgow (talk) 15:13, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Do you mean Revit Building is a former name of Revit Architecture? Or it's a tool in Revit Architecture? Then it should be mentioned in the article. --222.35.187.25 (talk) 13:32, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • it was renamed. I've added that info to the history section (which needs a cleanup) --duncan.lithgow (talk) 09:47, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Do you still consider this as a controversial or potentially controversial move? --duncan.lithgow (talk) 21:28, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • I wonder whether we should have 3 different article, one of whom named Autodesk Revit Architecture, or we should place all content in one article named Revit Series. --222.35.187.25 (talk) 13:32, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • As Ive said before the differences between RAC,RST and RMEP are so few compared to what they have in common that I think they should remain in one article unless some people knowledgable of the difference and willing to write them up begins to contribute. I hope to add something about the differences in the future but I've found it tricky because the function are always changing. So I say one article called simply Autodesk Revit, with some clarification of differences. --duncan.lithgow (talk) 09:47, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
      • Thank you! I agree with the move. --110.232.42.149 (talk) 03:36, 4 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
        • Great. I won't make this move until I have time to adjust the text appropriately and add section for the three flavours. --duncan.lithgow (talk) 05:45, 4 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
