Spelling of A. konincki[edit]

Schoenemann 2020 spells this with a second trailing 'i' (seems to indicate latin genitive of Konincki). However there are a lot of hits for A. konincki and also a lot of other genera having a konincki species (with just one trailing 'i'). Anyway, A. kionickii (to be found at orf.at: Augen wie ein Insekt, also at scinexx.de) seems obviously misspelled. I'm afraid I could not find a person Konincki by internet search. Who is who has 2 hits for Koninck (both Dutch painters in 17th century), but none for Koninckii. So it looks like Koninckii was misspelled by Schoenemann At al., too. Found a second online ref with trailing 'ii', also other cases where latinization of a family name adds -ius instead of -us, resulting in a trailing ii for genitive (see Eriogonum tiehmii, includes family name Tiehm, seemingly latinized as Thiemius, rather than Thiemus). Further refs in media use -ii as well: spektrum.de, Scientific American, nature, sci-news. Changed to trailing double i.--Ernsts (talk) 16:29, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Most likely the A. koninckii spelling is an orthographic correction that is suggested by the ICZN rules of nomenclature to match the gender of the genus name. we should be going with the current spelling.--Kev min § 18:21, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
