Komendant did not earn a doctorate at Dreden University (or at least there is no proof for it). We discussed this at German Wikipedia, see de:Talk:August Komendant#Promotion. Short translation of a research made by the archives at Dresden University: Komendant was student in civil engineering at "Technische Hochschule Dresden" from 1929 to 1933/34 which can be proved (even though his student's document was lost because of WW II). But there is no proof for his conferral of a doctorate, neither at "TU Dresden" nor at "Hauptstaatsarchiv Dresden".
