Collector's Edition[edit]

In the Retail Editions table it says that the Collector's Edition contain multiplayer character cards which is not true. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Matpatnik (talkcontribs) 18:48, 20 November 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.68.73.231 (talk) 07:29, 22 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Article has spoiler[edit]

A locked article with the ending of the game. Perfect for those who want the story line to be spoiled for them.

Spoilers are expected in a Wikipedia article. Check out Psycho (film). Don't come here until you've finished the game. Gorman (talk) 21:21, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Game modes: "Wanted" and "Wanted"?[edit]

In the game modes, the name "Wanted" is used twice (next to "Wanted Advanced"). Is this correct? Are these two paragraphs about the same game mode? This is confusing nonetheless.

Tunnel Glitch[edit]

There is a glitch that occurs when using the tunnel system. It occurs when you use a tunnel to warp, and desmond ends up in a desynchronized area. Since the game auto saves you end up in a loop resulting in desmond's death. The only way out of this glitch is to start a new game. This is more of a design flaw than a glitch. Someone please put this on the main page.

Combusting ragdolls?[edit]

I don't recall seeing this problem in the first game. I don't even think there was a graphical effect for burning enemies, although I could be mistaken. Is this a problem unique to Assassin's Creed II, or did the author mean "convulse"? 96.228.2.100 (talk) 12:40, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Convulsing" would make more sense. If you kill a guard on a pitched rooftop, occasionally they would slide down the roof, sometimes catching on a chimney or something and they would jiggle about. This is a common problem in games with ragdoll physics though, and not unique to AC2. 62.172.234.21 (talk) 17:12, 18 October 2010 (UTC).[reply]

Desmond/21st Century[edit]

Is it known if you will play Brotherhood as Desmond being Ezio via the Animus, or will it solely be Ezio in 1499? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.117.136.81 (talk) 09:37, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The gameplay will remain the same as it has for previous console titles: Desmond will take control of Ezio through the Animus. There will be sequences in the game that take place outside of the Animus, although they will be more linear than that of gameplay while inside the Animus. White3agle510 (talk) 22:49, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As a result of the "bleeding effect", Desmond is now about as agile as Ezio and is tit-for-tat skillwise, so it's basically the same system. There is also the ability to move around in a larger outside world (not to give away the location). TheArchaeologist (talk) 16:47, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Music[edit]

I have removed links to YouTube videos and replaced then with fact tags. The reason for this is the videos and their description of the videos make no reference to the music within, this especially applies to the thematic sequences in the demo. Without a reliable source stating specifically what music is within, it is original research. The videos by themselves do not verify what the text is saying. Australia Gets it When?[edit]

ok reading through this article and i noticed that the release date for Australia was november 1st? or did the editor just make a typo? Assassin1503 06:48, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Phrasing of a certain paragraph[edit]

"Having your own "Brotherhood" will be a big factor in this game. With the touch of a button, you can go from shooting 20 arrows at once, or having your Brotherhood strike from above to make short work of any annoying enemies. You will have the ability to control and customize your assassins by sending them on missions and earning SKILL POINTS. You can then use these skill points to upgrade the weapons and armor of these assassins." This sounds a bit unprofessional and a bit too much like an excited kid/developer raving to someone for Wikipedia, doesn't it? I'm just not sure how to improve it myself. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Xaerun (talkcontribs) 22:07, 7 October 2010 (UTC) I have too agree with that, the best way is too just take away the 20 arrows and annoying enemys etc, and IMO, I doubt a Ubisoft developer will trouble himself for a Wipikedia article, so yeah, probably some exceited fan :P[reply]

Windows Release Date[edit]

Please, do not update the PC release date, as long as you can provide a good source. It's possible the Windows version will be released in February or March, but websites like Amazon are not a good source to provide the release date. 89.73.122.153 (talk) 11:54, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Does gamespot count? http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/assassinscreedbrotherhood/similar.html?mode=versions, btw sorry but i got no wiki account. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.204.183.25 (talk) 01:44, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't count since Gamespot gets information on this page from the retailers. They're not considered a reliable source when it comes to games that haven't been yet released, according to Wikipedia:WikiProject_Video_games/Sources#Retailers wlodi (talk) 17:52, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ubi's website says "Holiday 2010." Whether this is out of date or not, it is a working link, whereas the current citation for a PC release date is a dead link. I would think if that was a truly reliable date, UBI would have confirmed it was shipping soon. http://www.ubi.com/us/games/search.aspx?pltag=pc ThaWhistle (talk) 00:07, 17 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What about this release date from metacritic? http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/assassins-creed-brotherhood It even has a countdown. Maybe this is Ubi's way of showing the release date? SuperJ9587 (talk) 19:43, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Brotherhood used in a Supreme Court case[edit]

Brotherhood was used in a Supreme Court case shows that it some how attacks political figures as well as Obama's health care plan within hidden messages as you can see here:

{{edit semi-protected}} The future tense is used in several places in this article. This game is now in public release and most these should be replaced with the present tense except for those that still make sense in the context of Ezio's progress through the in-game timeline.

The combat system will have several improvements...

...the player will be able to customize their appearance...

Players will be able to choose one of the available characters:

...downloadable content called the Copernicus Conspiracy which will be accessible for download on PSN from November 16, 2010. Players will have access...

{{edit semi-protected}} Hi, the name Ezio should be changed to Desmond in the last paragraph of the Plot. I believe the original author made a mistake. "Finding the Apple, Ezio activates it, and is forced by the Apple and the instructions of one of the Ancestors to stab Lucy Stillman to "balance the scales." Desmond passes out as the credits roll, during which two men place Desmond back within the Animus." changed to "Finding the Apple, Desmond activates it, and is forced by the Apple and the instructions of one of the Ancestors to stab Lucy Stillman to "balance the scales." {{editsemiprotected}} Points will be removed for dying or killing NPCs, otherwise players would feel the need to kill everyone in sight. This is not correct. Points are not removed for killing NPCs, you just lose your current contract and are without one for several seconds. So, yes, there's a penalty, but it's not your score.

Quoting from the "Sales" section: "It also had the best Ubisoft's launch in Europe and is the best-selling launch title ever as of November 2010". The game is not a launch title (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Launch_game) as it is not being released alongside the release of a console, therefore, it cannot be the best-selling launch title evar(sic). o_O

Desmond being put back into the Animus[edit]

Common sense dictates that it is clearly Desmond, who else can it possibly be? And when he's placed back in you continue to play Desmond's genetic memories. The game follows the experience of the main character, Desmond, but some people think it suddenly shifts to some unknown (who sounds just like Desmond) post credits? Saying it is someone other than Desmond is over analyzing the situation a lot more than saying it is. Rehevkor 08:55, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, make use of the Occam's Razor concept until you have something reliable that contradicts it. TheArchaeologist (talk) 16:49, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Release date on Microsoft Windows[edit]

The infobox states that the game on PC will be released in March, but you can buy it from here since 22 February: [http://www.amazon.com/Assassins-Creed-Brotherhood-Pc/dp/B003L8DXS4/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1298801283&sr=1-2] Taro James (talk) 10:08, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No, you can't, it's "out of stock". Probably because Amazon thought the date was 22 February but then Ubi did not deliver it on time and Amazon forgot to change it. [http://www.amazon.co.uk/Assassins-Creed-Brotherhood-PC-DVD/dp/B003L0OVO2/ref=sr_1_3?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1298805181&sr=1-3 Amazon UK] has it correctly for example. Meanwhile the infobox cites a reliable source (and previously cited an Ubi employee) so that date is per our policy the one we should use. Regards SoWhy 11:15, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It is out of stock because people bought it. And the torrent trackers leaked it too. —Taro James (talk) 11:23, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ubisoft "pirated" their own soundtrack[edit]

Apparently, Ubisoft downloaded a FLAC (lossless) rip from demonoid, converted it to mp3, and is including it as part of the "Digital Deluxe" edition of the PC release. Source: http://torrentfreak.com/ubisoft-pirates-assassins-creed-brotherhood-music-from-demonoid-110316/ 50.40.160.91 (talk) 13:27, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Any sources other than torrent freak? Rehevkor 13:32, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Certainly. The article cites Reddit user "plginger" as the person to make the discovery;
His original post on Reddit: [1]
He's also linked to an article on Eurogamer, whose staff has contacted Ubisoft about the matter. Their official reply is that it's "under investigation." [2]

As plginger stated in an edit of his submission, it seems Ubisoft has already switched the soundtrack out with completely different mp3 files, sporting a modified tracklist as well as being a different bitrate and containing different id3 tags (the location of the "evidence" in the first place).

I'd also like to point out that Ubisoft has previously been caught undeniably using "pirate" materials; They actually distributed a "crack" from warez group Reloaded as a fix for Rainbow Sex: New Vegas 2.[3]

(This information has been verified by users as well.) 50.40.160.91 (talk)
Well Reddit is a social networking wossname site, so it's not a reliable source. It's not really relevant what "users" have verified, see WP:OR. The R6V2 stuff isn't really relevant here. Eurogamer is okay though. Rehevkor 14:21, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Firstly, I'd like to state that I felt the R6V2 stuff serves to show that Ubisoft has a track record of similar actions. It's not necessarily relevant to the WP article, no, but I felt it relevant to the discussion here. I'd also like to mention that the "user verified" remark was specifically about the R6V2 stuff, not anything I intended as "article material." I'm sure if there is any truth to plginger's claims (as I believe there is), in time it will be covered by a reliable source. I fear I simply brought this subject up far too early into the "story's unfolding," so to speak. I'm new to (this side of) Wikipedia, and so I brought this information to discussion specifically so a user such as yourself could vet it by Wikipedia Standards. Thanks for your time, and I'll be sure to bring up any further info from a reliable source. 50.40.160.91 (talk)
Well yeah, it's all just speculation at this point. From a "user" perspective it's pretty compelling. But even the Eurogamer article doesn't actually confirm anything. Will play it by ear. Rehevkor 14:50, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Should we mention Assassin's Creed III?[edit]

The article I read in Game Informer (which is at home right now so I can't quote it) had a quote from an Ubisoft exec about "Revelations" being the last AC2 story and now they can move on to AC III. Is that too off the cuff to make mention of? Is that a little too close to WP:CRYSTAL to qualify? Padillah (talk) 16:58, 18 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Let's decide when we see the quote; preferably with a link to the electronic article. I think speculation is more for editors than the sources. Sir William Matthew Flinders Petrie | Say Shalom! 18:31, 18 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Da Vinci Disappearance voices[edit]

One of the men is that William fellow who Shaun is emailing, or was it Lucy? Anyway, the other voice clearly addresses the guy as William at the start of the Sequence. Not sure what I could give as proof though. Sir William Matthew Flinders Petrie | Say Shalom! 03:40, 31 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

mac version?[edit]

mac version of this game was released on may 22, 2011... why no info here? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.101.102.10 (talk) 19:37, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say because no one found the info in an RS and added it. You're welcome to do so if you like. I'm not sure what could be used as an RS though as Mac announcements are somewhat low-key afaik. Sir William Matthew Flinders Petrie | Say Shalom! 19:52, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The ending of the game (Plot section)[edit]

So, I literally just finished the game a couple days ago, and the temple was most assuredly not under the Santa Maria in Aracoeli, but actually under the Colosseum. Are there multiple endings? Gorman (talk) 21:27, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's been a while since I played, but I recall you start at the Colosseum, travel some way, and end up at the church, under which is the temple itself. Яehevkor 21:32, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Templar/Assassin Accuracy[edit]

The game claims to be based on historical events, people and beliefs but seems to run to some bizarre tangents (the Knights Templar make up a stereotypical conspiracy theory bad guy, the Assassins, based on the Hashshashin are actually "good guys"). The implication seems to be that the revision of the moral positions of these groups is actually more accurate and the game makes a very sober claim that it was worked on by a multi-faith group in order to come to these ideas. Would it be appropriate to address any of these inaccuracies in a different section? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Solificus (talkcontribs) 19:12, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The key phrase is "based on". It's fiction, so of course it's not going to be accurate. It would only be appropriate if there are reliably published third party sources to support it, as long as it didn't run afoul of WP:UNDUE. Яehevkor 19:26, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Rome or Roma?[edit]

Under The Da Vinci Dissapearance section. " Ezio identifies the location of a new subterranean location in Roma and proceeds there, to find Da Vinci imprisoned by Hermetics."
