Most known for?[edit]

Archie may have once been know best for "Bend It Like Beckham", but that's ancient history. Isn't it more accurate to now say that she's best known for "The Good Wife"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.180.132.53 (talk) 04:04, 28 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalization[edit]

Looks like this page was vandalized by some publicist or deranged fan of Archie. They changed the birth date to 1979. They changed the birth name to Archie Panjabi. Folks!! This is an encyclopedia. Everything must be referenced. We have a solid referenceable source from Brunel University in the UK that references BOTH her birth name and her graduation date. She did NOT graduate from the University when she was 16, no matter what the publicist may want to say now. The University student affairs office with a simple phone call will confirm both her name and graduation date. The phone number of the relevant office is 01895 265585 (this is a UK number).

This is what screws up the reputation of Wikipedia when you have fake edits being made. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.64.78.90 (talkcontribs).

Thanks for making this reversion, which was quite right. But please remember to assume good faith, and note that contacting the student records office of Brunel University would amount to original research and is not permissible either. All information in Wikipedia should be published elsewhere in reputable sources. Still, thanks for patrolling - your vigilance is appreciated! Peeper 16:40, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Peeper, as always you are a true professional and thank you for pointing out that original research is not permissible. However, the point I was trying to make was that we HAD a good source in the PDF that was provided by Brunel University and if someone thought that PDF was faked, they could call the University. But, your point is well taken. Thanks again! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.64.78.90 (talkcontribs).

No worries. Like I said, your edit was good, so let joy be unconfined. And remember, flattery will get you everywhere - cheers! Peeper 14:57, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikification[edit]

Whoever Wikified this article did a good job in arranging the information. Keep it up

Kaur/Sikh?[edit]

I'm pretty sure she's stated she's a Hindu... and that source used in the article for her middle named supposedly being Kaur? Is that reliable? lol —Preceding unsigned comment added by AyanP (talkcontribs) 01:56, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sikhs are not Hindus - the article says she was born to Sikh parents, but she's categorized as a British Hindu. 70.23.104.49 (talk) 00:17, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The daily mail article goes into much detail about her Hindu background and clearly states she is a Hindu. Quote "Miss Panjabi has said she used to be 'embarrassed' about her mother's colourful saris, and the Hindu gods she displayed in their home, but has now changed her mind: 'I've changed - it's very trendy now to be an Indian.'"

Further, it says her parents had to leave Pakistan for India after Partition, being Hindus.
Finally, I would like to add her parents names (Govind and Padma) and even her real name (Archana) are Hindu names.

Sikh or Hindu?[edit]

The Telegraph reference says she is Sikh, but the Daily Mail says her family is Hindu... – ukexpat (talk) 18:25, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

QUESTION for possible recent content re Archie Panjabi[edit]

Are you aware of the following item from the Australian Sydney Morning Herald - <http://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/tv-and-radio/a-history-of-violence-20121102-28nli.html> November 5, 2012 attributed to Andrew Murfett "What if The Good Wife's titular character is really Kalinda Sharma?"

NPOV[edit]

Large sections of this article are sounding like typical PR written by an agency. Could anyone please do something about it?91.39.80.136 (talk) 09:14, 29 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Error in Credits[edit]

Yes, this point is original research, but: IMDB lists her in cast/credits for Eleanor Rigby Him/Her (not in Them) with no character name. Her page here lists her character as 'unknown' in the 'sequels' (though they are NOT sequels, they're re-edits) likely only for that reason. I watched all three films on DVD; she is NOT in ANY of the 3 films OR their credits. The wiki Eleanor Rigby article also lists her in cast, with no character name, again likely IMDB 'sourced'. Not a 'big deal', but this is why folks laugh about Wiki ... 66.81.248.100 (talk) 07:56, 27 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

How do you spell Punjabi?[edit]

Remind me to double-check The Good Wife opening credits; doesn't that say Archie Punjabi not Archie Panjabi? The article only uses that alternate spelling once, but it does use it. If the spelling is a mistake, the article should correct it, but if she sometimes uses variant spelling stage names or whatever (like Molly Quinn/Molly C. Quinn, James Stewart/Jimmy Stewart, Puff Daddy/P. Diddy, etc), maybe the article should point it out. 71.76.194.204 (talk) 00:55, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
