"Evade" anti-ballistic defenses[edit]

Perhaps I am being overly pedantic, but doesn't the term "ballistic" imply an un-powered descent along a geometric curve? To my mind, one might evade anti-missile defenses with a guided missile, but a ballistic missile - much like a "dumb" bomb or artillery shell - must rely on other defenses. This isn't the only article which uses the term "evade" in this way - the article on the Sajjil claims an evasion capability for that misile system.
