Improving the plot[edit]

A guy approaches a local goon, Kaadan-Benny, asking for his help to beat up a gang of members called the Palliyangadi team. Benny decides to help this guy out and sends some of his men to accompany him. They enter a local bar where they fight with the Palliyangadi team which include the protagonist Vincent Pepe and some of his friends. The scene cuts abruptly for a prologue by the narrator, Pepe. The whole scene is then revealed at the near end of the movie.

Pepe's narration describes the history and nature of Angamaly. Vincent Pepe (Antony Varghese) was born and raised in Angamaly. He lives with his mother (Jolly Chirayath) and his sister Mercy (Athira Patel), while his father runs a cotton business in one of the underdeveloped areas in Karnataka called Kollegal. Although Pepe was brought up to be a devout Catholic and also to become an altar server in the local church, his real role-models were the local football team called the New Star, and their captain Babuji (Anson Antony), who was also a good/bad thug, feared by most in Angamaly. Inspired by them, Pepe also wanted to form his own gang and to be like Babuji and his New Star Team. While in school, he forms a team which included couple of his school friends, Linu and Varkey, the other members were Bheeman, Paripp Marti and Kanakuna Marti. Still in school, this team did a lot of mischievous things together, they also had a common love interest, Seema Satish(Amrutha Anna Reji). The narrator introduces Linu's sister, Lily; who is three years elder to them, they call her Lichi(Anna Rajan), which is derived from Lily and Chechi(Sister in Malayalam). As the group members were enjoying each other's association and was starting to become a tight-knit team, one of the member, Linu, leaves the group as his dad had got a transfer to Chandigarh. Linu's sister, Lichy, also leaves Angamaly, she joins a military college in Chandigarh to study nursing.

Barely passing the 10th and 12th grade, Pepe and his friends reach the final year of BA History, where they have their first fight, which makes them infamous across Angamaly and gives their team a name - The Palliyangadi team. They go on to thrash some men who had misbehaved with Pepe's childhood love interest, Seema. However, this fight ends up in a disaster for the Palliyangadi team who take a heavy beating and get admitted into a hospital. Seema feels sorry for Pepe and visits him in the hospital, they eventually fall in love with each other.

The narrator introduces a senior member in the Palliyangadi team called '10ml' Thomas(Bitto Davis) who once used to be the strongest member of the new star team.
