Winner of 2010 Tour de France[edit]

I read that he is now considered the winner of the 2010 Tour due to Contador's suspension. Anyone feel up to updating it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.6.41.130 (talk) 17:08, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

When someone loses out like this due to testing, it does not mean that the second place really won, like in 2006, but here, Schleck really did win 2010. He made Alberto Contador his bitch and the only reason Contador could keep up to take advantage is the drugging. Same for 2009. Even in 09, old man Armstrong was making the drugged up Catador his bitch. No way the little Spaniard got up those hills in that time without the extra hepp. Ewe know it and we know it!
Dear someone!"He made Alberto Contador his b**ch" You know it is not ethic to write something like this! Although Andy is favourite rider, I do respect Alberto as well. In fact I fear him. He is one of the best riders nowadays (and also one of the best riders ever!). Both of them were really really at the 2010 Tour de France and that was a though and close race. Nobody made fun or anything bad with the other! Besides this dopping incident Alberto is a great rider. I won't judge Alberto. CAS did. After several months of investigation they made their descision: Alberto did against the rules. We can not be 100% sure that he did but have to believe CAS. Andy is the 2010 Champion! But I really looking forward to the 2013 Tour to see these amazing riders too compete again. Safe and clean riding!
BTW I updated the article's Major wins, Notable results and Grand Tour General Classification results timeline sections with the results and also made some design change. Hope you all like it. Cheers, PrisonMan (talk) 21:32, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
On uci.ch : "The disqualification of Alberto Contador from the 2010 Tour de France as a result of the CAS ruling as well as his suspension backdated to 25 January 2011 entails the amendment of the classifications of all events in which the rider participated during this period as well as other associated rankings. Details of these amendments will be published within the next few days." : Andy Schleck is not yet the winner of 2010 TDF. 82.233.190.123 (talk) 07:48, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
In fact he is the winner of 2010 TdF. But okay I got your point! You want to wait until the official UCI ruling. This is just playing with the words: Alberto has been disqualified, Andy considered to be the winner but there is no official statement from UCI yet. Okay let's wait until the official words! Languages?[edit]

Do we know how many languages Andy speaks? I have heard him speak German and English, is that all that he speaks? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.54.55.154 (talk) 15:15, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Don't know, and it's not relevant to the article, but the official languages of Luxembourg are German, French, and Luxembourgish. Softlavender (talk) 11:43, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually it may not have an importance to the article but if let's say some body just wanted to know to do a report or something on him it's in interesting fact. Yes the official languages of Luxembourg are German French & luxembourgish but it doesn't mean he speaks all fluently even though he should due to the education system in Luxembourg. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.105.12.250 (talk) 17:44, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

He is surely capable of speaking French, German, English and Luxembourgish fluently. But I think he does speak a little bit of Italian, too. Neo1988 —Preceding undated comment added 12:35, 1 December 2010 (UTC).[reply]

Would be nice to have a pic without sunglasses[edit]

If anyone has a photo/headshot of Schleck without sunglasses, they should upload it and add it, and if it's a headshot, replace the existing photo with it. Softlavender (talk) 01:22, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Leopard-Treak picture[edit]

It would be nice to have a picture of Andy in the article in his new ProTour Team Leopard-Trek. The current picture in SaxoBank is out of date! If someone have a picture of Andy in the Leopard-Trek jersey, please upload it and refresh the article. Thanks, PrisonMan (talk) 16:46, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've personally made the change. PrisonMan (talk) 18:56, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thanks for your contributions. It has been said many times before that pictures are Wikipedia's soft point and simply it's because of copyright - we can upload other people's work unless they give the permission to do so. For you or me, as non-professional photographers, attending a race with our cameras, we are usually more than happy to upload some photos - indeed to see our picture on such a frequently visited site is probably an honour (well, it is for me, but I never get in a good enough spot in a race to take nice photos!). Professional photographers, however, retain their copyright so we can't use their photos. That's usually why the photo hasn't been updated and we must be careful in the photos that we do upload, ensuring that we have the permission to use them. (You can read loads more about this at Wikipedia:Images). Personally, I think it would be a good idea for the team to release a few publicity shots under a CC-BY-SA licence as then they would appear here and therefore better for their image and sponsorship! Cranks[edit]

Are 175.5mm cranks really considered short for a rider of his height? And if so, by whom? FWIW I've got 165mm on one bike, 172.5 on another and 170 on the other five, and I'm taller than Mr Schleck. Mr Larrington (talk) 15:21, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
