Expert/Fan needed![edit]

Isn't there a Andre Matos/Angra/Viper/Shaaman fan around who would like to develop this article a bit?

Andre did not form Viper. He was invited for an audition but offered his keyboard skill. Being almost an "Bruce Dickinson impersonator" and the least worst singer, he became a band member. -- Cris Spiegel, 07-23-2006, 8:54 GMT

Would be his experience with professor Chico Campos important to point? And some doubts: did he started to take classes at the time he had voice problems on Holy Land tour? But he states he is a graduate singer. Can it be possible? He also said once he never used falsetto or head voice (I´ll have to look for it), which is clearly wrong, specially having he said that he indeed uses falsetto on a tv show in Brazil, showing no embarrassment about it. -- Cris Spiegel, 07-23-2006, 9:04 GMT

I'm on it!! I edited the article and brought the circumstances of Angra's "split", plus basic info about Shaaman's lineup being composed of former Angra members. The information about Shaaman being on a break was given to me by Andre himself when I interviewed him during the Wacken Open Air this month for www.metal-immortel.com. It's not online yet but I'll post the link as soon as it is so people can see I'm not lying or anything ^^. By the way, there's no falsetto voice on the records, but he may have used it during live performances when he had problems reaching high notes. The only example I've heard of falsetto voice is in the end of "Speed" on the Fireworks album --Cosmic Camel Clash 02:44, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, the falsetto issue is kinda polemic. I have to confess I used to think that some forms of head voice in low volume were falsetto, but I still don´t know if his more "feminine" vocalizations were in fact head voice. Gotta check that, but I can´t rely on official stuff, cause they may use compressor, equalizer, Antares Avox, etc. Funny it was once on MTV Brasil, a boy called by phone and said "Ah, Andre Matos is only falsetto", and Matos replied "It´s indeed falsetto, so what?". The show was called "Gordo on Ice", featuring João Gordo of Ratos de Porão as host. Don´t ask me when it was, though I´ve taped it. Maybe one can find it on sharing networks.

About his musical education, he states he is a conductor and composer, who had piano and singing classes in college (also private piano classes since 10). Although that, he had to really learn to be a heavy metal singer, not a lyric one as he was taught to, the hard way. I think it´s alright. Cris Spiegel 12:10, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

His name isn't André Matos, is Andre Matos, without acute accent.

William Shakespeare's Hamlet - 2001[edit]

It's a project involving several Brazilian bands. It was a one-time thing. They relased one CD, and Andre Matos was featured on the last track, "To Be". Angra singer Edu Falaschi was also on it, but with his former band Symbols. Haggen Kennedy (talk) 15:41, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Discography[edit]

I tried to condense the discography somewhat; however the dates require some cleanup. It doesn't matter if they are demos, EPs, whatever. The only difference in how the records should be grouped is by band or solo effort, and by single vs. album.
