Expanded and tidied up[edit]

Hi. I have expanded and referenced all the content in the article - however, the bit about Jeff Winter is unverifiable, and the first match at the Emirates Stadium was not refereed by Andre - Dennis Bergkamp's testimonial was controlled by Alain Hamer (Luxembourg)[1]. They have therefore reluctantly been removed. If you can find verification for the Jeff Winter 'fact', please re-instate with the source. Thanks. Liverpool – Manchester United[edit]

A quick Google News search finds over 150 stories from reputable sources criticizing his officiating. I find it appalling that User:Ged_UK, a self-described Liverpool fan, is blocking any edits from this article. Not done per WP:NOTNEWS. Whilst yesterday's game has of course has received a lot of recent coverage, it is not a topic of historic significance, and should not be included in the article. I merely stated the reasons I did not think the edit should be made, and referred to the relevant policy. If I am wrong, please explain why rather than resorting to insults. On 17 April 2011 in a fixture between Arsenal and Liverpool, Marriner gave away a penalty to the away team in the dying seconds when Dutch international Dirk Kuyt appeared to have simulated a foul. The Liverpool man converted the penalty with the last kick of the game and the match concluded at 1-1, effectively ending Arsenal's title hopes. ^[1]

On 30 April Marriner was involved in more controversy in a Chelsea v Tottenham. A Frank Lampard shot bounced off Heurelho Gomes's fingers and stopped on the goal-line. The Football League website calls him André Marriner - do we have any reason not to use his official designation?
