Date of birth[edit]

Various sources show 5 May, 10 May and 21 May as his date of birth. None of them specify whether this was according to the Julian (OS) calendar in use at the time in Russia (which then included Ukraine), or the Gregorian (NS) calendar, which were 13 days out of synch with each other.

That means there are 9 possible dates to consider:

"Litvak began work in film at Leningrad's Nordkino Studios, where he was assistant director for nine silent films in the 1920s. For political and ideological reasons, and especially because Russian theaters were nationalized by the Soviet government in the 1920s, he left Russia for Berlin, Germany in 1925. There he would have more artistic possibilities."Is the author ignorant? Theaters were nationalized at the end of 17-18, and he lived in Soviet Russia for another 8 years, maybe he left because of censorship and poverty, well, certainly not because of nationalization Цйфыву (talk) 17:43, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
