Article

Was there a newspaper article in the last couple of weeks called something like the Truth about Amstrad?--Darrelljon 15:55, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

Case History

Is there a business case history on Amstrad by John Hendry? ADC May 27, 2006

PC20/PC200

Article needs some info on the Amstrad PC20/Sinclair PC200. Bastie 13:49, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

PC2086

Just a note - the 2086 had an Intel 8086, not an NEC CPU. I had one, and so does this chap: http://popcorn.cx/computers/amstrad/pc2086/. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.255.155.129 (talkcontribs) 12:10, 23 January 2007 (UTC).

Company history - I'm not sure if this is right:

"In 1997, Amstrad PLC was wound up, its shares being split into Viglen and Betacom instead. Betacom PLC was then renamed Amstrad PLC."... From Companies House data, I think that in 1997 Amstrad Public Limited Company was then renamed AMSLIT LIMITED and then in 1998 AMSTRAD COMPUTERS LIMITED, which it still is today. This is Company No. 00942631 which was incorporated on 19/11/1968. Does anyone have any comments? DavidFarmbrough 14:12, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

The reference for the above is this web page of a former(?) Amstrad engineer. Companies House shows that the current AMSTRAD PLC changed its name from BETACOM PLC on 25 Nov 1997. Perhaps the old Amstrad PLC was re-used a shell for a new subsidiary (Amstrad Computers Ltd.)? Letdorf 15:42, 21 March 2007 (UTC).

Amstrad DMP3000 dot matrix printer

Weren't the DMP printers for the CPC and PCW computers rather than PC's as the article says? Miremare 22:38, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Sky STBs?

Amstrad haven't been making set top boxes for ages. They are all made by Pace, and have been for ages {anon}

WRONG! Amstrad make 30% of them - and Pace will probably lose their contract now that Sky have bought Amstrad! Digifiend 11:24, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

HEAD OFFICE

Head Office is no longer in Brentwood, no matter what their website says. That building is now a Premier Inn hotel — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikiwonko (talkcontribs) 23:32, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
