I will be undertaking the GA Reassessment. H1nkles (talk) 17:18, 9 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

*I've put a [citation needed] template after this sentence, "Around Year 36 of his reign, he also married Tadukhepa, the daughter of his ally Tushratta of Mitanni.".
*Per WP:BOLD you should refrain from using bold text in the body of the article. I'm assuming the large bold text in the "Life" section is a quote from the excavation of an artificial lake? If so then please follow the guidelines in WP:QUOTE for inserting a block quote. You have a block quote later in the section, not sure why the bold quote isn't also formatted the same. If I'm missing something please advise.
  • Is cite [20] supposed to reference the entire preceding para? There are a lot of assertions in the preceding paragraph and they should be referenced.
  • "Amenhotep III's refusal to allow one of his daughters to be married to the Babylonian monarch may indeed be connected with Egyptian traditional royal practices that could provide a claim upon the throne through marriage to a royal princess, or, it be viewed as a shrewd attempt on his part to enhance Egypt's prestige over those of her neighbours in the international world." This is speculation and unreferenced. Please provide citations.
*Another large bold block of text, see above.
  • In the "Court" section check the tense in this sentence, "There are many important men in office under Amenhotep III." "Are" should be "were"?
  • Ramose, Amenhotep, Aperel and Ptahmose, why link two and not all four, especially when one is a red link?

:*"They are known from a remarkable series of monuments, including the well known tomb of Ramose at Thebes (TT55)." Is TT55 a reference? If so we can't use WP articles to cite other WP articles. See this link for MOS info on this.

  • Consequently the "Court" section is unreferenced and needs to be referenced.

:*"Monuments" section Luxor Temple is linked twice, once is enough, same with Pylon (architecture). :*I added another [citation needed] template at the end of the "Death" section.

*Cite [47] "El-Amarna North Tombs" is a dead link and will need to be repaired. In the "See Also" section you have an external link entitled "Comemorative scarab of Amenhotep III", this is also a dead link.
  • See WP:CITE check the referencing on websites, they should include a publisher, author (if available), and accessdate.

Here are my primary concerns about the article in violation of the GA criteria:

  • Comprehensive-there isn't much mention of his lineage, the article could be developed there.
  • MOS compliance-The lead should be a summary of the article. Amenhotep's father and mother are mentioned in the lead but no where else, there is nothing about his accomplishments, later years and death. WP:CITE I'm concerned about some missing references and a couple of dead links, these need to be addressed. WP:QUOTE the quote formatting is not consistent and should be fixed, bold block text should conform to MOS standards.

I will put the article on hold for a week and await fixes. H1nkles (talk) 18:27, 9 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have started to look at all of the above, and have crossed out the ones I have done. Markh (talk) 21:41, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
