Title modification?[edit]

I would suggest that Allan Jones is really better remembered as a singer rather than as an actor, and that singer should at least share equal billing with actor (actor-singer) in the article title.

Irrelevant/unsourced claim[edit]

Moving this here from the "Radio" section:

Jones was never a dentist, as some websites have reported. He had an active singing career in movies, television, radio, on the stage and in nightclubs from 1929 until his retirement in the late 1980s.

This has no place in the "Radio" section. It would appear to belong in a general overview, but none exists in the article in its current state.

The real problem with the passage, however, is that it makes the weasel claim that unspecified "websites" are saying that Allan Jones the singer/actor was a dentist. A Google search for "allan jones dentist" turns up 1.2 million results, but of the first 30 shown, only this article says anything about Allan Jones the singer/actor being a dentist. The majority of the first 30 results are about Allan C. Jones, a Torrance, CA, dentist who is still alive and still practicing.

Unless someone can produce a website actually claiming that Allan Jones the singer/actor was a dentist, this passage may not be returned to the article. Canonblack (talk) 12:26, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
