He talks in the book about how mycomania and luck can strike at any time; he was at a recital and found the pictured mushroom in the field around the recital hall. Arlo James Barnes 18:32, 9 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

borges' deutsches requiem[edit]

i am both a huge mycophile, and a borges fan. i have re-read deutsches requiem four times just now, and can't find the phrase "looking for all that the rain promises; and more-he sought the very essence of the lunar tides in his precarious life". i have the hurley translation, not henderson, but there is nothing in the story remotely similar in theme or meaning. it's told in the first person. the only references i can find when i google are to this wiki article or to an old reddit thread. can anyone confirm if this phrase comes from borges, and if so, from which story? thanks. That has now been removed as I couldn't find the qoute in "Deutsches Requiem" either. Vpab15 (talk) 14:17, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
