Actors?[edit]

Who are the actors? 203.214.115.85 (talk) 14:16, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

As this film is now (2009) being remade as a summer blockbuster, I'd say that this page definitely meets notability guidelines. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.144.104.65 (talk) 19:33, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Agreed, I think this article definitely meets notability guidelines as it is now a major motion picture release. Billbowery (talk) 04:30, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oops[edit]

"the human populartion was enamored with, among other aspects" Ha ha ha ha. Oh god, I hope I wasn't the one who typed that. Thanks to whoever corrected that silliness. --JerryLewisOverdrive 22:34, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge from Alive In Joburg[edit]

I just merged Alive In Joburg to this page. The two were duplicate articles, but oddly enough had different histories. You may consider checking out the history at the previous page. --Iamunknown 01:35, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That was my fault. I started by making an "Alive in Joburg" page (notice the lower case i in "in"), realised my mistake and didn't know how to correct it. So I just made a new page, figuring someone would be able to fix the mistake. It just took longer than I expected. --JerryLewisOverdrive 03:27, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

YouTube links[edit]

This article is one of thousands on Wikipedia that have a link to YouTube in it. Based on the External links policy, most of these should probably be removed. I'm putting this message here, on this talk page, to request the regular editors take a look at the link and make sure it doesn't violate policy. In short: 1. 99% of the time YouTube should not be used as a source. 2. We must not link to material that violates someones copyright. If you are not sure if the link on this article should be removed, feel free to ask me on my talk page and I'll review it personally. Thanks. ---J.S (t|c) 04:24, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

subtitles[edit]

When a white person is speaking, there's no subtitles. When a black person is speaking, there are. This is despite the fact that everyone is speaking English. Was this intentional? Capt. Jean-Luc Pikachu (talk) 20:37, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I thought some where speaking Afrikaans, no? 212.17.87.133 (talk) 17:10, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Some of the Africans are speaking with very particular slang (that some might not understand at first). The subtitles are in "normal" US english, so the listener can better understand what is being said. 97.118.223.72 (talk) 23:35, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Allegory[edit]

This film is probably meant to be an allegory to the influx of illegal immigrants to South Africa, mostly from Zimbabwe, who were originally welcomed with open arms but later with increasing hostility, no? --Jfruh (talk) 20:47, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's what I thought too. Needs a reference though. 150.203.230.8 (talk) 00:04, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
