Opera banner[edit]

Do not continue to remove the "WPOPERA" banner from the talk page of an individual whose career was devoted to opera. Opera, and its project, does not solely comprise vocalists, but also includes other individuals who participate in the creation and realization of opera. In a case such as this one, "WPOPERA" is quite appropriate, as he didn't do much else during his life than participate in the realization, production, and presentation of this genre. The WPOPERA project comprises:

  1. articles on opera composers and librettists
  2. articles on individual operas
  3. articles on opera singers
  4. articles on opera houses and opera companies (sometimes but not always the same)
  5. articles on all genres of opera from grand opera to operetta
  6. articles on opera recordings
  7. articles on other opera-related topics

Alfredo Silipigni is an "opera-related topic." The "WPCLASSICALMUSIC" project is fine, but does not connect this individual to an opera project, where those interested in the genre of opera may find this article with a mind to improving it.

I left a note on your talk page - to which you have not so far replied. Since you are not a participant in that project I am rather surprised that you should be placing the banner. Moreover as I have already told you, WPOPERA is the wrong coding and potentially will cause problems with bot runs. Kindly do not address people with imperatives. It is uncivil, instead discuss the issue. As you will know, I do not indulge in edit wars. --Kleinzach 02:19, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
