Feedback from New Page Review process[edit]

I left the following feedback for the creator/future reviewers while reviewing this article: How is this different from Aldol Reaction?

Aldol reactions has been a redirect to Aldol reaction since 2006. Now in 2023, LoomCreek has created the current article and is its only contributor. They have also contributed to the related Aldol reaction and Aldol condensation. While the latter article is arguably on a different topic (i.e. the reaction between two carbonyl compounds to form an enone, RSC ontology #17), the current article here and its singular version cover the same chemistry: the reaction of two carbonyl compounds to form a beta-hydroxy ketone (RSC ontology #16). @LoomCreek: needs to explain why they did not just merge any extra content now in Aldol reactions into Aldol reaction, leaving the former as a redirect. @Michael D. Turnbull Aldol reactions covers the general collection of reactions (Aldol addition & condensation). While Aldol reaction is currently in a name change process to Aldol addition (see talk page there) LoomCreek (talk) 14:32, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If this page is to remain as a high-level summary/pointer to the more specific other articles, it should not have any of the details of those articles (mechanisms, intra- vs inter- discussion, etc,). See WP:SUMMARYSTYLE. DMacks (talk) 06:56, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bulk moved from Aldol Reaction[edit]

A significant portion of this page was originally from Aldol addition as the topics covered the larger topic rather addition specifically. LoomCreek (talk) 06:59, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
