Prospero Colonna in 1525?[edit]

Why could Prospero Colonna occupy Carpi after the Battle of Pavia in 1525 if he had died in 1523? See Prospero Colonna Ignatius Curiosus (talk) 12:28, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

According to Francesco Guicciardini ("History of Italy", book 17) Carpi was occupied after the Battle of Pavia by troops under marquis of Pescara. As for Prospero Colonna he possessed this county in 1523, but "Lione, Brother to Alberto Pio, recovered by Surprise tre Town of Carpi, which was negligently guarded by Giovanni Coscia, who had been placed there by Prospero Colonna, to whom the Emperor had given than Town, after declaring Alberto a Rebel of the Empire". —— Ignatius Curiosus (talk) 21:09, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
