The lyrics to the song were published before 1923. The text is from the Library of Congress Website and is in the public domain, though some editing was performed on the to improve for brevity.
I’ve corrected the second stanza, where a transcription error had duplicated the middle four lines at the end of the stanza. All the stanzas follow the same twelve-line pattern, in which the first four lines are duplicated as the last four lines. In the second stanza, the transcription had accidentally duplicated the middle four lines instead.
