Technically, Richard "Dick" Gautier succeeded Adam West in the role of live-action actor to portray Batman. In 1972, Yvonne Craig (Batgirl) and Burt Ward (Robin) filmed a public service announcement (both were in full costume) concerning equal pay for women. Adam West supposedly stayed away from the chance to reunite with Craig and Ward because he at the time, was trying to distance himself from the entire Batman franchise (he was concerned about typecasting to put it in another way). It wasn't until 1977, that West decided to return to the Batman role in the form of the animated series The New Adventures of Batman.User:TMC1982

On the first line of his page, can someone explain... "Adam West aka D. B. Cooper (born September 19, 1928) is an American actor best known for his lead role..."???

I've never heard of him being mentioned or referred to as D. B. Cooper!

Date of Marriage to Marcella

According to http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001842/bio, Adam West married Marcella on 7 November 1970, rather than 1971. Does anyone have any verification of this? Vk2tds (talk) 22:13, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

There's...nothing whatsoever in regard to a filmography or television work guide in that link. Other actors have selected filmographies in their profiles. Therefore, including an abbreviated filmography of his most important roles would be acceptable. Including nothing whatsoever is silly. Rebochan 17:17, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

If you read through the article to the Voice-over work section, you will find mention of Adam West's work in Family Guy. You can click on the link to Adam West (Family Guy) for more information. I doubt it was an "ironic" choice to select Mr. West to portray the Grey Ghost. I strongly feel that episode was specifically written for West as a tribute to him. There are just too many "coincidences". The most obvious is where Batman used the Ghost as a model for his own career and motif. The fact that the name of the hero is "The Grey Ghost" points to the Phantom because "Grey Ghost" was the original name Phantom creator Lee Falk proposed before he changed it. The "Ghost Who Walks", of course, was also one of the characters that had an influence on the Batman's birth. In truth, only the writer who wrote the script knows for certain. Birthplace

The article, before this moment, had stated that he was born in Walla Walla citing an article by Rhonda McClure at genealogy.com. However that article does not state that he was born in Walla Walla, in fact it states that he was born in Seattle. So I'm changing his article here to conform with that. "voice-over"?

The page keeps calling west's original voice-work in animated content "voice-over." Is this accurate at all? Isn't doing a voice-over doing a recording of another vocal actor to put in place of the original vocal track for a character?

Adam West did a promo comercial for "TV Land" that ended with West's deadpan delivery, "TV Land... Because life is too short to watch crap!". I nearly fell off my chair laughing the first time I saw it. West and Memphis Wrestling

Tons of pages on Wikipedia suffer from lack of proper historical perspective on classifying or categorizing wrestling promotions. Judging from the footage I saw on YouTube of West's appearance with Jerry Lawler, I would estimate that it took place in 1974 or 1975. This is roughly a decade and a half removed from the promotion being known as the United States Wrestling Association. If you absolutely need a label, most wrestling promotions of that era went by All Star/Big Time/Championship Wrestling or generic brand names of that sort. Many of them were under the umbrella of the National Wrestling Alliance, which is classified these days as if it were a major corporate entity like World Wrestling Entertainment, which is just another indication of lack of historical perspective.199.165.99.246 (talk) 05:15, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

Tbhotch, IMDB is an authoritative source. It's owned by Amazon.com, a Fortune 100 company. That's how they even describe themselves in their press room .

Yes, IMDb is owned by Amazon.com, but IMDb is the Wikipedia of the films. I don't know if you are new here, but it is well-known that IMDb is not a reliable source. I am relatively green to this wiki, but not wikis in general. From what I could gather on IMDB's website, they use the word "authoritative" to describe themselves, but I can respect if the community at large disagrees with that classification.
