  • The Bormanis interview says "Michael Dorn is directing for us"... is that in reference to another episode?

Lead

  • I'm trying to remember which other Enterprise episodes I've reviewed, whether this phrasing was used... "Set in the 22nd century, the series follows the adventures of the first Starfleet starship Enterprise, registration NX-01." People might subconciously add a comma, making it "the first Starfleet starship, Enterprise", which would turn it from the first starship to be named Enterprise to the first starship at all. That's how I first read it. Or was it the first? The WP article on NX-01 really doesn't say (I only glanced, but.)
  • It's the first Starfleet starship - so should have the comma. There is another Enterprise from the pre-Starfleet days, but it has only ever appeared on calendars and the line and never been properly explained in canon. I'll get that comma added. Plot

  • Second paragraph, why is vault italicized?
  • T'Pol suggesting the machine was on the moon surface... did they beam up samples from the surface? How did the machine get from there to here?
  • I've added some further explanation to the first paragraph of the plot. Miyagawa (talk) 17:42, 22 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Considering the lead explains the premise of the series from scratch, you probably should also explain who Porthos is.

Production

  • If Archer told the Ferengis to stay away from him, he would have had to document them later for Starfleet. How is this not formal First Contact? It's an unpleasant diplomatic exchange, but a diplomatic exchange none-the-less.
  • It's more the writers trying to cover up that they shoe-horned the Ferengi into Enterprise and seriously messed with continuity. In this case, there would have been a report, which would have had images but no details on who they were. So later prior to The Next Generation they hear all about these Ferengi but don't know what they look like (you know, despite one of them owning a bar on a certain space station on the Federation/Cardassian border) and even when Picard engages them in the Stargazer, he still doesn't know what they look like. That's what's considered to be first contact because they confirmed that they were Ferengi. It wasn't until the events of "The Last Outpost" that the name and the image were linked together. But yeah, it could have been a great deal tidier if they'd just left the Ferengi out of Enterprise. :) Miyagawa (talk) 17:42, 22 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Reception and home media release

  • Wow, that rating seems high... one in every 20 households in the US had Enterprise on?
  • First season Enterprise got good ratings, it was only from season two onwards that they seriously died on screen and by season four they were pleased to get half of those ratings. Miyagawa (talk) 17:42, 22 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Is the announcement date of the Bluray a holdover from before March? Now that it is on Bluray, I'm not sure that's relevant here.
