A Streetcar Named Desire disambig page[edit]

should the title refer to the play and the disambig page be secondary? After all, the play is clearly more significant than an adaptation...--Christopher 11:56, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would vote yes, myself. Anyone else? (John User:Jwy talk) 01:31, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of requested move[edit]

A Streetcar Named Desire (play)A Streetcar Named Desire —(Discuss) --Una Smith (talk) 05:19, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I missed this notice and therefore the discussion. It seems early to put in another request, but for the record, here's my thinking of why the play (or MAYBE the first movie) should be "here:"

The goal of WP:MOSDAB, as I understand it, is to get people to the information then want quickly. If we were to have the un-dabbed name go to the play, it would cover the characters, plot, etc. which would satisfy a good portion of the readers - these subjects apply to all adaptations but for our blue-haired friend Marge. Those looking for other information would then have links from the play page that would work as an annotated dab page - or they could be pointed back to the dab page. In any event, I believe we would serve up the right information more quickly for a majority of the people that way.

What links here in WP is not a good measure of how the page should be named. Links can be fixed. Its what the search box brings us that is important. (John User:Jwy talk) 21:16, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
