Please add data that has been lost in the course of edits below, with a link to the old version that had it if possible. With the massive number of edits some stuff is being lost.

Telecom outages[edit]

This bit was in at one point and BBC has this page on phone network problems.

Vodafone have reported that their mobile phone network reached capacity at about 10 AM on the day of the incident, and they were forced to initiate emergency procedures to prioritise emergency calls. Other mobile phone networks have also reported failures. London's Transport system is currently paralysed, significantly because of the complete closure of the underground system and the Zone 1 closure of the bus networks, as well as evacuation of Russell Square. The BBC has speculated that the phone system has been closed by the security services to prevent the possibility of mobile phones being used to trigger bombs. BBC reports mobile networks are running again.

Brighton?[edit]

Local Brighton radio tells of a controlled explosion of a suspicous briefcase at approximately 12:55PM local time in a telephone box outside of Brighton station. All London to Brighton trains have been cancelled for now.

There are now four confirmed sites where police are dealing with reported explosions. These are:

1) Russell Square and Kings Cross underground

2) Moorgate, Algate, and Liverpool Street underground

3) Edgware Road underground

4) Tavistock Square where there has been a confirmed explosion on a bus.

The emergency services are working together in a co-ordinated response and liasing with hospitals to rescue those injured.

The London Underground system has been suspended however the Network Rail system is still in operation. We would urge anyone who doesn't need to come into London today not to do so. If you are already in London wherever possible please limit travelling around the capital.

The Met continues to respond to 999 emergency calls but non emergency calls will have a seriously delayed response.

We cannot at this stage confirm the number of those injured, though casualties are multiple. There are believed fatalities but numbers again are not confirmed.

The blog section was deleted on 7 July 2005 at 16:45 by 82.164.3.140. No reason was provided. Can this section be re-published?

My limited understanding of wikipedia is that it's about the decentralisation of information and a participatory approach to the collection and production of knowledge. Why can't this section be republished on the main page?
