Reference requested

Is there anybody who would want complete a reference due to Lackenby, please? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Juan Marquez (talkcontribs).

Which one? There's no reference to Lackenby in this article, although he's mentioned in alternating knot, where I've added the reference, and also he's mentioned in the talk page for Heegaard splitting. Where exactly did you see mention of Lackenby? If I wrote it (which is likely), I can give you the reference. --C S (Talk) 15:18, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

Deleting five dimensions

Prior to my edit, there was a claim that spacetime might be five dimensional. I'm pretty up on these topics, and I've never heard this claim before. I'm deleting it. If anyone wants to revert, we can discuss it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.215.255.13 (talk) 15:08, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

wikimedia commons sketches

I opened a section [1] in Wikimedia Commons to illustrate some of the very basic 3d spaces to give a better idea of the beasts lurking in this land, enjoy!--kmath (talk) 02:47, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

Categories?

What does it mean that the topological, piecewise linear, and smooth "categories" are all the same? Not in a category-theory sense, right? Crasshopper (talk) 05:52, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

Possible typo

The caption reads: All of the cubes in the image are the same cube, since light in the manifold wraps around into closed loops, the effect is that the cube is tiling all of space.

Was tiling supposed to read filling? Just asking --guyvan52 (talk) 23:10, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

Lower star for induced map under \pi_1?

Under the Simple Loop Conjecture, I believe the induced map is typically written as f_* as opposed to f^*. Baldersmash (talk) 23:21, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

  • Yes, definitely. I fixed that. Turgidson (talk) 20:10, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
