TCR World Tour is not a continuation of the FIA WTCR[edit]

It is a common misconception that the TCR World Tour is a direct continuation of the now defunct FIA World Touring Car Cup. Unlike the WTCR, which shares lineage with the World Touring Car Championship, the TCR World Tour is not related to the WTCC/WTCR in any way, shape or form. So therefore do not put the TCR World Tour in any WTCC/WTCR related articles and/or templates (such as the WTCC/WTCR seasons template). Also, since this series is not organized by the FIA, therefore it is not recognized as World Championship and do not add this season in the World Championships in 2023 template (or any subsquent year templates). That is not entirely the case. WTCR was the result of a merger between the WTCC and TCR International Series, and the TCR World Tour continues the lineage of a global TCR series that started with the TCR International Series and continued with WTCR. Furthermore, many of the drivers and teams from WTCR are now competing in the TCR World Tour. Therefore it can definitely be considered as an effective continuation if not a direct one, and there is no requirement that it needs to be a completely direct continuation to be mentioned in WTCC/WTCR related articles. The promoter of the WTCR will also promote the TCR World Final, and the FIA could also be involved per WSC's Mauricio Slaviero (source; I know it's not the best one). Also, the "World championships in 2023" template does not solely include FIA World Championships (hence the non-capitalised "championships", and the WTCR wasn't an FIA World Championship either), and therefore there is no reason why we cannot include it in that template, especially if reliable sources consider the TCR World Tour as a world championship in a slightly informal manner.
