January 2022 results[edit]

I'm away from my laptop, but I'll have a writeup ready tonight (eastern time) for the basho results unless someone else wants to take a crack at it? JRHorse (talk) 15:06, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Question answered... JRHorse (talk) 00:15, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Heh. I would normally step in but I've been a bit busy today. Thanks for the update. Pawnkingthree (talk) 00:19, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

'Grand Sumo Tournament Event' in the Sport Calendar on the mainpage[edit]

hello Sumo Fans, please help, someone (‎Greatminton) delete the 'Grand Sumo Tournament Event' in the sport calendar on the mainpage under https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:Current_events/Sports. he means - non-notable. - maybe 'vandalism'. he only will see sports he like. - ====Sumo==== *Nov 13–28: Grand Sumo Tournament Kyūshū Basho in Fukuoka Kokusai Center, Japan - ... thanks, Sumo-Sport (talk) 21:42, 15 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Italicizing basho[edit]

Hi @Kaiketsu: - regarding italicizing basho in the headers... no complaints here, but if it is italicized here, should all of the headers in previous "in sumo" articles be italicized similarly? Perhaps other contributors can reach a consensus unless already discussed elsewhere? JRHorse (talk) 12:49, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@JRHorse I think it's pretty established in sumo articles that we should be italicizing all non-English terms. See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Sumo#Conventions. So yes, we should go through the all the years in sumo and change the headers. Pawnkingthree (talk) 15:04, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks very much! On an unrelated topic I think it’s worth mentioning in the November tournament recap that the last 3 tournaments have all been won by rank and filers for the first time, but I have yet to see an online article referencing it. JRHorse (talk) 16:23, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Agree with that - I will keep a look out for a reference. Pawnkingthree (talk) 17:35, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like Japanese-language references were found. Fixed grammar and sequence for clarity. JRHorse (talk) 17:42, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
