The qualification rules mention a commitment deadline but don't explicitly state when it is. It is probably somewhere around June 1. For category 1, it is 10 events in the 12 months prior to the deadline, so 10 events from June 1, 2014 to June 1, 2015. Inkster played 6 events in 2014 after June 1 and 2 so far in 2015 so 8 out of ten. If the deadline is a week earlier, add another event to her total but still not 10. For Pak, 7 events since June 1, 2014 (8 if deadline a week earlier). So I think they belong in category 2, not 1. Tewapack (talk) 15:48, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for pointing this out. I misread the data at Yahoo! Sports. I suggest that we only include players in this entire section who have committed to play, according to the tournament website. It seems premature to guess players who might or might not qualify and might or might not commit to play. This is not the US Women's Open where the tournament organizers publish a citable list of who has qualified. --Crunch (talk) 22:53, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Also, it's almost certain that Inkster will not play in the tournament, since she is on the television broadcast team the US Open in Seattle the next week. --Crunch (talk) 22:58, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
This is the way it is done for every other major, women's or men's, that publishes a qualification criteria - I see no reason to deviate for this event. Tewapack (talk) 02:11, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
