Reliability of Tweets[edit]

I don't see that tweets can't be used a source. There's no blanket rule that Twitter is unreliable. If a major news outlet is tweeting something, it doesn't make it unreliable. Nfitz (talk) 02:45, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:Twitter only certain tweets should be considered reliable. WP:TWITTER states "Self-published and questionable sources may be used as sources of information about themselves". GoPurple'nGold24 07:41, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. Presumably tweets coming from major news organizations, that are 100% verifiable with other sources are reliable. Nfitz (talk) 11:09, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Look if there is already two reliable sources backing up the attendance then why should there be a questionable one there. If I wouldn't of removed it most likely somebody else would of. GoPurple'nGold24 04:09, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I don't buy that there is a questionable one. It's accurate, and from a major media outlet. Nfitz (talk) 00:10, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Like I said if I didn't question it then someone else would of and I repeat why add a social media source if there are other reliable sources listed. There is honestly no need for some unverified twitter account used as a source. Also the sources you listed that show the attendance, one of them was written before the game even happened and the other only says there was 61,000 not 61,004. GoPurple'nGold24 02:47, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Announced attendance is typically paid attendance. As game was 100% sold out very quickly, it's easy to establish paid attendance before game time. Sure, I don't see any point adding redundant twitter references after there were other references - but this is not what happened here. Also, I don't think there is any question about the veracity of the twitter account. Nfitz (talk) 00:59, 10 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Your logic violates WP:CRYSTALBALL, you cannot assume anything. Until it's announced it should be added not before just because people are speculating it. GoPurple'nGold24 04:46, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see what that has to do with removing tweets of the announced attendance by media AFTER it was announced during the game. Nfitz (talk) 00:58, 13 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
