Copyedit April 2011[edit]

Hi

During the copyedit some things came to light which may need attention:

January
  • "Juan Manuel Lillo would arrive in El Salvador on January 10, 2011." - and? what is the relevance of his arrival? is he the new coach? is he going to be selling flowers?
February
  • "the Spanish coach" - which one? is this Rugamas? or Lillo?
  • "of coaching La Azul y Blanco" - who or what is this La Azul y Blanco?
March
  • "La selección cuscatleca" - what is this?
  • "Raggae Boyzz" - what is this?
April
  • "La Selección Salvadoreña" - what is this?
General notes
  • Massive amounts of overlinking - only one link per article unless there is a real need for more (such as 1 in a table and then 1 in the body of the article or 2 in the body of the article in a very long article). See WP:MOSLINK.

Lead re-write[edit]

The 2011 season is the 90th season in El Salvador's history, their 73rd in the FIFA and 49th in the CONCACAF. The team was managed by José Luis Rugamas beginning in January 2010. Rubén Israel's took over as manager in April 2011. The season is still ongoing.

Most of January 2011 was spent playing in the 2011 Copa Centroamericana. El Salvador reached the semifinals but lost, so had to take part in the third-place finals. They finished in fourth place but were able to qualify for the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Forward Rafael Burgos received the Golden Boot with 3 goals. The national team has won 2 games and lost 1 game (friendlies) and that 2 more have been scheduled in 2011.

El Salvador will take part of the the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup in June and will start their 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign in September, starting out in the Second Round.
