Requested move 5 May 2020[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: Not moved. Only the proponent of the move was convinced that 'Robocall scandal' was the common name. And the opponents say that this was not the only robocall scandal, so WP:PRECISE is not satisfied. EdJohnston (talk) 15:29, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

2011 Canadian federal election voter suppression scandalRobocall scandal – Robocall scandal seems to be the WP:COMMONNAME that has developed for this scandal. It currently redirects here. It seems to be the term that was used in most WP:RS [1] and I note that The Canadian Encyclopedia uses a slight variation of the term, The Robocalling Scandal, for its article about the topic also suggesting widespread use. Note - I have placed notices on the Canadian Politics and History projects and on the Elections and Referendums project. If notices should be posted on other relevant projects please do so.--Darryl Kerrigan (talk) 22:15, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose: The proposed name is too ambiguous. There have been a lot of robocall scandals. —BarrelProof (talk) 03:46, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Keep here its the perfect tile if we don't want people to find the article.--Moxy 🍁 03:53, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Moxy: are you saying people will not find it at its current title? Or the proposed one?--Darryl Kerrigan (talk) 19:59, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Note - This issue was discussed several times years ago in archived discussions here, here and here. Those discussions do not appear to have been formally closed however.--Darryl Kerrigan (talk) 17:12, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
