  • ... that in 1948, authorities in Gozo learnt that a fishing boat had capsized after a survivor swam ashore, walked to a nearby village, and called the police? Source: "As the luzzu was approaching Mġarr it could not take any more pounding and it capsised ... When he finally succeeded in scrambling ashore, he made his way to the call office at Qala to inform the Mġarr police of his fellow passengers’ plight." (Times of Malta)
    • ALT1:... that a fishing boat capsized and sank off Gozo in 1948 after too many passengers had insisted on boarding the boat? Source: "...many more people than they had expected. In view of the number of passengers Refalo and Grima insisted on making two trips, but the passengers protested and boarded the luzzu... As the luzzu was approaching Mġarr it could not take any more pounding and it capsised" (Times of Malta)

  • New enough, long enough, neutrally written, adequately referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. Images are freely licensed. QPQ done. Both hooks are good; I tweaked both of them because luzzu is not a common term but "fishing boat" is. Hook refs verified and cited inline. Good to go.
