The 1931 Census of the United Kingdom DID include Scotland[edit]

The (frankly absurd) assertion here that the 1931 census of the United Kingdom did not include Scotland is false. The reference link given is the the National Archives in London which says nothing about the 1931 census for Scotland, because the 1931 census for Scotland was never stored in London.

The 1931 census for Scotland (still a part of the United Kingdom!) is stored in Edinburgh and was not affected by the fire which destroyed the 1931 census for England and Wales and other parts of the UK. See this article which states this: http://www.1911census.org.uk/1931.htm

See also this link from the National Records of Scotland which states that they hold all of the census records except for 1941 which was not taken due to the war: https://www.nrscotland.gov.uk/research/guides/census-records

The 1931 census for Scotland is not yet in the public domain due to the 100 year closure rule.

I will amend the main page, but I do not know how to add references. I apologise for that omission and leave it to others to add the links that I show here. John2o2o2o (talk) 09:16, 20 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
