Happy to Hang around[edit]

Doesn't it resemble the Cowboy junkies song "It doesn't really matter anyway" a lot? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.78.249.212 (talk) 07:59, 25 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The Beautiful Occupation[edit]

Thought this song was inspired by the Madrid bombings, not the Iraq War?

-- A separate comment from another user:
Is there a cite for claiming that this single failed to reach the Top 40 because of the Christmas holiday rush? If not, this should be removed as it's equally or more likely that a sizeable group of the fans and/or the public didn't like the song or didn't like it's divisive political themes ? Fair use rationale for Image:12Memoriesalbumcover.jpg[edit]

Image:12Memoriesalbumcover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Anti-catholic track?[edit]

I'd heard that one of the tracks on the album was written as an attack on this catholic school in Glasgow that Fran went to, but which one was it? Was it "Peace The Fuck Out" or was it "Some Sad Song"? I noticed also that you have to shine a light over the lyrics in the cd booklet, or sit under bright lighting to see the lyrics for the latter song. Andrew07, if you still come around here, according to a BBC News article, Healy attended Holyrood RC Secondary School in Glasgow's Crossbill area, and the song in question is "Some Sad Song".[1] CharlesTStokes (talk) 07:45, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Healy's depression[edit]

"Much later, Fran Healy spoke about the album as a whole being about him working through his own clinical depression, and the twelve memories being twelve reasons for him reaching his depressed state. At the time this wasn't mentioned, but the revelation that Healy was depressed ties in with the band's decision to take longer writing and releasing their next work."

The assertion above in the Wiki article is oft-repeated on other websites, ostensibly sourced from Wikipedia. I found two references confirming Healy used the making of the album as a way of dealing with his depression but can find no sources substantiating the portion beginning with "and the twelve memories..."

When Healy allegedly "spoke" about this, was it on the radio? Did he tell a neighbor one morning while fetching the paper? This kind of assertion certainly warrants a reference.

I am a newcomer and gladly receive your feedback! CharlesTStokes (talk) 08:00, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
