Is Balladur Turkish, or was he just born in Turkey? J-C V 14:52, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

French Wikipedia seems to say his family was Armenian Catholic living in Smyrna for several centuries. john k 15:10, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Balladur has the French nationality otherwise he could not be a congressman (député). There is no evidence that he has a double nationality French-Turk although some strong opponents hinted at that. He is indeed from an old Catholic family of Smyrnia, but the Armenian descent is less than certain. --Geo115fr 16:11, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
