The result of the move request was: page moved to the proposed titles. While a couple of users supported only the 1st, there has been been no significant opposition to 2nd and 3rd but all 3 proposals have enough support for moving them to the proposed titles. – No WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, and WP:COMMONNAME of all of the footballers is just "Alex Sanchez" without maternal last name. Redirect Álex Sánchez to DAB at Alex Sánchez. Ortizesp (talk) 04:07, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support the second and third, as discussed before we don't use maternal last name to disambiguate footballers. Weakly oppose the first, long-term page views show that Álex Sánchez the footballer born 1989 gets over twice the views of him born 1990, so per WP:TOPIC "more likely than all the other topics combined" he should stay there. We shouldn't make life harder for people who search with the diacritical mark. 94.21.253.28 (talk) 04:35, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Question. Is it reasonable to use {{spanish name 2}} on articles that are not titled according to Spanish naming customs? Álex Sánchez is so hatnoted, but beyond his full name in the lede, the article does not use this form of his name. Similarly, when we move other footballers away from a title with their maternal family name, should we remove the hatnote? The explanation is marginally useful, but could be more discreet in a footnote (using the plain=yes parameter). 94.21.253.28 (talk) 04:47, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support 1st per the stats provided by 94.21.253.28, although we now allow PDABs, the threshold is higher than base name primary topics. No comment on the other 2. Crouch, Swale (talk) 07:21, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
