Shaoshan Liu is a US-based computer scientist,[1] who is also the founder,[2] chairman and CEO of PerceptIn.[3] Presently, he is a senior member of IEEE,[4] a member of ACM[5] and a member of the editorial board of IT Professional.[4] Additionally, he is the vice chair of IEEE Computer Society's Special Technical Community on Autonomous Driving Technologies.[6]

Liu holds a Ph.D. degree in computer engineering from University of California, Irvine.[7] His research focuses on deep learning infrastructure, computer architecture, autonomous driving and robotics.[8] He secured numerous patents on robotics and autonomous driving.[9]

Education and career[edit]

Shaoshan Liu took undergraduate and graduate courses at the UCI,[10] where he obtained a Ph.D. in 2010. He earned a M.P.A. from Harvard University.[11]

Prior to his entrepreneur venture, he worked at LinkedIn, Broadcom and Microsoft.[12] In 2016, Liu established PerceptIn,[13] a California-based visual intelligence technology company.[14]
