Career[edit]

San Francisco Giants[edit]

Genovés signed with the San Francisco Giants in the United States as an international free agent on July 2, 2015, and received a $550,000 signing bonus.[1] He made his professional debut in 2016 with the Dominican Summer League Giants, for whom he played 59 games and hit .256 with one home run and 18 RBI.[2]

In 2017, Genovés played for the rookie–level Arizona League Giants. In 39 games, he posted a batting line of .252/.327/.356 with two home runs and 19 RBI.[3] The following season he played for the Low–A Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, and hit .243/.328/.311 with one home run and 13 RBI across 50 appearances.[4]

Genovés split the 2019 season between Salem-Keizer and the Single–A Augusta GreenJackets. In 51 total games, he batted .265/.335/.469 with 9 home runs and 45 RBI. Genovés did not play in a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.[5] He began the 2021 season with the Single-A San Jose Giants and batted .338 through 38 games before being promoted to the High-A Eugene Emeralds.[6] Genovés hit .217 with 7 home runs in 65 games for Eugene, and received a late–season audition with the Triple–A Sacramento River Cats.

In 2022, Genovés was assigned to Triple-A Sacramento and slashed .233/.320/.349 before being sent to the Double-A Richmond Flying Squirrels, where he batted .203. He elected for free agency at the end of the season.[7] Genovés re-signed with the Giants and began the 2023 season with Sacramento.[8] In 79 games for the River Cats, he hit .218/.317/.343 with 6 home runs and 34 RBI. Genovés elected free agency following the season on November 6, 2023.[9]
