The door handles at the St. Peter's Church in Hamburg were made of bronze. The handles are the oldest work of art in Hamburg, dated to the construction of the tower in 1342. It survived among others the French occupation (1806–1814) and the Great Fire of 1842, and the bombing of Hamburg in World War II.
