Kentaro Maeda (前田拳太郎, Maeda Kentarō, born 6 September 1999) is a Japanese actor and a member of the theater group Gekidan Exile.

Early life and education[edit]

Kentaro Maeda was born on 6 September 1999, in Saitama Prefecture.[1] He has a younger sister, Kokoro Maeda, who is a member of the Japanese idol girl group Hello! Project.[2][3][4]

When Maeda was in kindergarten, he aspired to appear in Kamen Rider, which led to him aiming to become an actor.[5] In addition, he graduated from Dokkyo University, Faculty of Economics.[6]

Career[edit]

In 2018, after entering university, he was selected as one of the "BEST 30" at the 31st Junon Superboy Contest [ja], but was rejected in the subsequent screening and initially gave up on his dream of becoming an actor.[7][8][9] He later joined the university's ballroom dance club, however, the activities of the club were suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. It was during that time that he thought about his future; he later decided to look for an agency to fulfill his dream of becoming an actor.[7][9][10]

He started taking acting lessons at EXPG studio from around the summer of 2020.[11]

In April 2021, Maeda appeared in the TV Tokyo drama Rules of Romantic Comedy ~ Complicated Girls and Younger Boys ~.[1] On July 1 of the same year, he became affiliated with LDH JAPAN.[12]

On 5 September 2021, He played the role of Ikki Igarashi/Kamen Rider Revi in the special effects TV drama Kamen Rider Revice, which aired from September 2021 to 28 August 2022.[1]

Maeda joined Gekidan Exile on 1 November 2022.[13]
