Gheysi (Persian: قیسی) is a popular type of dried apricot in Iran.[1][2] It is widespread in the vicinity of Damavand, Amol, Tasuj, East Azerbaijan and Kerman.[3] Gheysi fruit, also known as jujube or red date, is a versatile fruit widely utilized in various culinary traditions, particularly in Middle Eastern cuisine. This fruit is renowned for its ability to be consumed in multiple forms, including fresh, dried, or cooked. In traditional Middle Eastern dishes, such as the stew khoresh gheysi, Gheysi fruit adds a unique flavor profile and texture.
