Great for Spike Jones; less arguable for "Cocktails for Two"[edit]

I uploaded this audio clip and added it to the Spike Jones article because boomers like me, and probably many others born later, will recognize this song and many other City-Slicker monstrosities without ever knowing who performed them. One can describe such music in prose, but hearing the clip will instantly connect old memories to new knowledge. What can be more educational than that?

On the other hand, adding it to the Cocktails for Two article seemed a bit dodgier. While it does illustrate something about the song – even the most famous version of the song – its presence arguably overwhelms the current version of the article. I'm not wedded to the idea of having it there, but a better solution would be expanding the non-Jones information about it and adding a similar excerpt of a great performance in its original style. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 07:50, 4 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
