Summary

Description
English: We now have 2K (2048x1556) film scans of some of our 16mm films. This is a 1280x720 MP4 copy of our high resolution scan. To order high resolution copies without the timecode and serial number burn-in, please contact Johnson.Library@nara.gov Home Movie #5: Lady Bird Johnson Home Movies, Footage of 1940's-1950's in Washington, Austin, Australia and LBJ Ranch. 1948 Campaign: LBJ campaigning by helicopter and talking to crowds. There is footage of the helicopter flying in the clouds and landing, people examining the helicopter and LBJ (using microphone) standing by helicopter and talking to the crowd. LBJ shakes hands with people, and stands next to boy on a horse. Then it switches to baby Luci Johnson with other children in the backyard at their house in Austin on Dillman Street; Luci is being fed by Zephyr Wright. Then it cuts to LBJ's helicopter campaigning in 1948. Possibly a view of an old stone building on the LBJ ranch? There is footage of a small helicopter with a "Lyndon Johnson" sign on the side taking off. The video ends with a shot of possibly John Connally talking with Rebekah B. Johnson? (Lyndon Johnson' mother) at the airport. If you recognize any of the people in this film that we have not yet identified, please let us know by leaving a comment. We'd love to hear from you.
