Description
English: Yiddish poetry reading. Alter Esselin, Yiddish poet from Milwaukee, reads his poem, "Elegy for a Tree" in October, 1969, on "The People of the Book," the then-weekly TV program devoted to Jewish culture on WTMJ, Milwaukee. Host Herb Felsenfeld interviews Esselin. The program celebrated Esselin's 80th birthday and the publication of "Poems by Alter Esselin", English translation by Joseph Esselin (1969, Chicago, Interface).
