Georgii Agricolae Kempnicensis Medici ac philosophi clariss. ... by Georgii Agricolae. Basileae : Sumptibus et Typis Emanuelis König, Anno 1657. In the late 15th and early 16th centuries capital-intensive new technologies made central European mines vastly more productive. Potential investors wanting to familiarize themselves with the industry created demand for richly illustrated mining and metallurgy treatises such as Agricola's.
