English: Interview with Johanna Nelles, from the division of equality between men and women of the Council of Europe. The Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention) was opened for signature on 11 May 2011 in Istanbul, Turkey. The Convention is also open to accession by non-European countries and by the European Union. Johanna Nelles, from the Council of Europe, explains what the Convention is and how it works.
