Summary

Description The air launch siphon is a siphon that demonstrates that liquid tensile strength is not needed to pull the liquid up for siphons operating at normal atmospheric pressures by showing a siphon where the liquid going down does not have continuous contact with the liquid going up, and therefore cannot be pulling the liquid up. This siphon operated steadily for more than 28 minutes until the upper reservoir was empty. The liquid in this demonstration is tropical fruit punch.
