This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because... the sources are the NTSB and the Director of External Affairs at the United States Merchant Marine Academy. I am not sure how to cite this free information.

@VCBinNYC: Taking from public domain information is fine. Sorry for flagging it- another site used the information as well. However, that's one of the reaons why you should always cite your sources. There's a toolbar at the top of the editing window that you can use to do this. Also, when using public domain text, you have to attribute it. (not just cite it!_ I'll add the public domain attribution tag for you in a minute. I'll do that using a special template. Specifically, this one. template:source attribution. Give me a second! Thank you for your help. I'll try to figure this out. This is my first post ever. I am motivated to learn this to honor this amazing man - and contribute to Wikipedia in the future. VCBinNYC (talk) 02:17, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@VCBinNYC I've just added it for you. You should know, however, that you're going to want a few more sources for this article. As it stands, it's unlikely to be accepted. Have you read WP:Your first article? GreenLipstickLesbian (talk) 02:19, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
