The Looming is an upcoming horror film written and directed by Masha Ko in her feature-length directorial debut. Ko adapts her short film of the same name, which debuted at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. Produced by A24, Square Peg and Causeway Films, the film is set to be released by A24.

Production[edit]

Masha Ko's debut short film The Looming premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, winning Ko the Short Film Special Jury Prize for Directing.^[1] Following the short's success, a feature-length adaptation that Ko would write and direct was announced. A24, Square Peg, and Causeway films were producing, and A24 would also distribute.^[2]
